A2. Throughout the incalculable eternity that the universe has existed and evolved, the birth and death of zillions of galaxies through zillions on zillions of millenniums, there have been countless Buddhas. In the span of this Buddhist Kap there were four with one to come.  Each taught the same Dhamma which would long before be lost in the billions of years in between their times.  And each enlightenment can occur only when the Dhamma (which means the Buddha's teachings or the truth) is completely gone, to the last word.  Then the void of ignorance begins.
