5. Why
are there 6 senses (eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body-sense and mind) in Buddhism?
A.
Because the mind is the most active of the senses, and one of the most
powerful. It can receive all the sensations of all the senses, and memorize
them, and accumulate all the good and bad ever done, if not intentionally.
It can make us hot with anger and cold with fear, red with embarrassment
and pale with sorrow. It is also an element that is experiencing
and consciousness, which makes it hard for it to recognize itself.
