By understanding about realities as they really are: only nama and rupa (consciousness and non-consciousness) and not the self or other beings and objects, one can accumulate conditions for sati (awareness of realities as they really are) to arise and accumulate wisdom about realities in the immediate moment. Thus the sati can develop to the point that wisdom realizes that all are indeed only realities and not the self, others, or any object.
